The Shattered Self

The journey of life can be bring forth times of great joy and happiness, but on other occasion’s times of great anger, sorrow and hurt. How do we manage those feelings when we are consumed with hurt, disappointment, rejection and regret. For example, this can be seen in the paradigm of relationships. When we are betrayed, slandered or made fun of we are confronted with the feelings of rejection, anger, hurt and confusion just to name a few of the many feelings that can flood the mind. During times such as these we can become depressed, discouraged and defeated as we psychoanalyze why something happened or what we could have done different. In times like these we can overcome when we focus on the truth and we partner it with faith. The truth can be found in what is true about ones character and their integrity. On occasion we can also talk to trusted family and friends that truly know us. On occasion those people can speak to ones character and integrity reinforcing what is true. With regards to faith, faith allow us to remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Faith reminds us that we are accepted no matter our flaws, when we humbly come before God and seek forgiveness and understanding. Managing our emotions and feelings in the journey of life can be a struggle, but if we pay attention to develop skills that can help overcome those negative feelings we can then hold on to the Hope there is in God and find Hope to live each day.

The Lord is near to the heartbroken and He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin). 

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow].
