For this New Year I have begun to prioritize family outings. We have always done things together as a family, but I am now focusing on doing healthier and more fun activities. A few weeks ago I decided to do a family hike to Wolf Rock one of the many trails associated with the Appalachian trail. I felt pretty familiar with this trail and thought the family would really enjoy it. Outside of some minor grumbling everyone was excited to go, so I gathered up my hiking equipment and we loaded up the van. What a site once we got to the Ranger Station, a family of six all bundled up in warm clothing each carrying a walking stick. We looked like a rugged crew, even Hannah in her backpack was ready for an arduous hike. We finally started up the path and I led as the fearless leader that I am (no laughing allowed) up the trail. I had a map that I acquired at the Ranger Station and I was following it very carefully. After about a mile we made it to a campsite. My beautiful wife and kids asked me Dad where do we go from here? I stood there perplexed and honestly lost. All the terrain looked the same. After a little more hiking I said let’s head back to the road. We followed it back to the Ranger Station. Even though we got a bit misguided we had a great time as a family. Alignment in Life is crucial for the Christ Follower. Have you ever asked yourself “who am I aligned with?” Are you aligned with Christ, others, or self?” What and who we are in alignment with will affect our passion and focus in life. Jesus prioritized his alignment with the Father and the result was a prosperous life, one that was whole, lacking nothing. If you feel lost turn to God and He will lead you to a focused life.

“Jesus said: If you love me you will obey what I command.”
